Jerome David Halseth

Jerome “Yoda” David Halseth, native to Truckee, died early Wednesday, Sept. 15 at home. He was born in Roseau, Minn., in 1951, and came to the Truckee area in 1972. As a registered nurse he spent most of his life working to save people, and within the last two years of his life, he worked for St. Mary’s Hospice helping people to die with dignity. Jerry was an avid golfer, reader and San Francisco Giants fan who lived his life making others laugh. He is survived by his daughter Kiersta Halseth and son Ian Halseth, sisters Patti Poorman and Pam Armstrong, brother Kerry Halseth and partner Lucia Martin. A remembrance celebration will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Donner Lake.
