JMA names Tirman executive vice president

JMA Sierra Ventures, the development company that owns Alpine and Homewood ski resorts, has named architect David Tirman as its Executive Vice President.

JMA Ventures is a San Francisco-based real estate investment firm and owner of Homewood Mountain Resort and Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. JMA Ventures will also be developing the Hotel Avery in Truckee. Tirman will spearhead the planning, entitlements and development of JMA’s Tahoe-area projects.

Tirman’s expertise parallels JMA’s development proposal for Homewood, a firm known for the development and refurbishment of historical landmark properties.

“Homewood is like a diamond in the rough,” Tirman said in a release. “There is tremendous opportunity to enhance an already beautiful place, and to do so with forward-thinking environmental practices.”

Tirman is accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program and a member of the Forum of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Tirman moved to Truckee in 2000 to work with East West Partners-Tahoe as Vice President of Development where he oversaw planning, design and entitlements for the Village-at-Northstar and the Northstar Highlands including the Ritz Carlton Highlands.
