Tahoe League for Charity held its Oct. 14 luncheon meeting at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe at Northstar.

An elegant lunch was served at the hotel’s Manzanita Restaurant followed by an art and architectural tour showing the hotel’s many distinctive design elements that capture an ambiance of sophistication and rustic elegance. Created by the San Francisco design firm Hornberger and Worsell, the Ritz-Carlton is situated mid-mountain at Northstar California. According to architects of record for the project, which was completed in 2009, the hotel has award-winning sustainability features and was designed to reflect the surrounding mountains with a natural feel to each space.

The Tahoe League for Charity November Grant Awards Luncheon meeting will be held on Nov. 11 at Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge, 1850 West Lake Blvd., Tahoe City, at 11:30 a.m. There will be eight grants awarded, totaling $4,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

The recipients will be present to share their goals for the awarded funds. Call Joanne Domingue at 530-525-7579 to make reservations. The cost is $17, with guests and potential members are welcome. For more information visit http://www.tahoeleagueforcharity.org.
