JV softball wins again

The Truckee High JV softball team traveled to North Valleys on Tuesday and dominated the division 4A Panthers, winning 16-7.

Again without their usual starting pitcher, the injured Hannah Zusy, Truckee started with Ashley McKechnie but went to Miranda baker after McKechnie was unable to set down any of the first five batters.

Baker, pitching for only the third time in her high school career, went on to throw a two-hitter while striking out nine, walking five and allowing just three runs over six innings for the win.

Baker also led the Wolverines at the plate, collecting two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Bailey LeClair also had two hits in the game. Heather Fisher took advantage of three Panther errors to reach base and score on each of her four at bats.

The Wolverines are now 11-2 overall and 5-1 in league.
