King, Mary Kreitzer

Mary Kreitzer King left us to rejoin her late husband M.C. King on Sept. 15, 2007.

Mary, a long-time Truckee resident, moved to Reno in 2001 to reside at a retirement home.

Mary was born on Nov. 2, 1921, in Harrisburg, Penn., the daughter of Walter and Bessie Kreitzer. She met Mayborn King when he returned from World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. They were married in July of 1946. M.C. and Mary moved to Truckee in 1949, where they built a construction company together. Mary was active in many social events in the Truckee area. She was a Cub Scout leader, an active member in the Methodist Church, the Truckee Donner Historical Society and the Truckee Senior Center.

Mary is survived by her son, Ed, and his wife, Jaynee; grandson, Craig, and his wife, Tasha; grandaughters Nicole and her husband Jai Parker, and Kasey King; and great-grandchildren Alison and Audrey King, Bodie Flodman and, most recently, Neela Parker, all from Fernley, Nev.

Mary will be placed beside her late husband in Truckee forever. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the Truckee Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to reflect on your time with Mary.
