TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Jake McDermott has a ticket to the “Fu,” the grand prize in the summer contest held by 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio. When morning host “Lindsay with an A” informed him he won the trip to the Futaleufu River with Bio-Bio Expeditions, McDermott said, “I’m so excited, my whole body is shaky right now. New atmosphere, new hemisphere, can’t wait!”

McDermott’s name was chosen from 101 listeners who qualified for the drawing throughout the summer. His name was entered in the contest when he visited Tahoe Mountain Sports, while the Quality Automotive and Smog Big Black Box was parked there. McDermott and his friend Casey Jensen will depart Feb. 27, 2014 for an all-expense-paid trip to the Futaleufu River in Patagonia with Bio-Bio Expeditions.

Bio-Bio Expeditions leads adventure tours worldwide, “But this is the one our guests return to, again and again,” said Bio-Bio owner Lorenzo Alvarez-Roos.

Runner up prizes included a Sports Exchange Gift Card won by Rupert Brauch, and a fly-fishing package with Matt Heron Fly Fishing, won by Bob Adler.

Once again this winter, KTKE will hold a drawing for Heli-Ski Trip to Alaska with Points North Heli Adventures. Listen for details as ski season approaches.
