Lake Tahoe Music Festival announces 2010 concert dates

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The Lake Tahoe Music Festival on Tuesday announced its 2010 concert dates, to take place July 22 through Aug. 7, 2010, at various North Lake Tahoe and Truckee venues.

Annually the festival draws more than 12,000 concert-goers to a wide assortment of music, according to a Lake Tahoe Music Festival press release, highlighted by renowned artists such as past participants like Boz Scaggs, Huey Lewis and The News, Dave Koz and Chris Botti.

An official roster for specific musician is yet to be finalized, but according to the LTMF website, announcements will come late January.

According to the release, adding to the summer seriesand#8217; notoriety is its support of its nonprofit educational outreach programs which include an Orchestra Academy for aspiring college-level musicians and a free after-school instruction program for elementary school music students in the Truckee area.

The Orchestra Academy is scheduled to perform at two of the events and will be composed of 36 musicians who will practice and play at Granlibakken Ski Resort.
