INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — There are tours that take you to the lake. There are tours that take you on the lake. There are tours that take you above the lake.

Now, there is a tour that takes you completely around the lake. Starting Sunday, July 12, Darin Talbot’s popular “Around Tahoe” will become a live-guided tour where you see the “Seven Sacred Sights of Tahoe” while aboard a lakewide shuttle.

In cooperation with Northstar Transportation, the Around Tahoe Tours Shuttle will depart from both the north and south shores on Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The tours run 9-3 p.m. and takes customers to seven specifics spots: Emerald Bay, Meeks Bay, Fanny Bridge/Truckee River, Mt. Rose Vista Lookout, Sand Harbor State Park and Cave Rock/Logan Shoals Vista — and one last secret spot that’s not revealed until you’re on the tour.

On Sundays and Wednesdays, the shuttle will pick up at Explore Tahoe in Heavenly Village at 9 a.m. The North Shore tour on Tuesdays picks up at Northstar at 8:30 a.m. and the Kings Beach boat ramp at 9 a.m.

Talbot will be the on-board tour-guide entertainer, telling stories, legends, folklore, history, statistics and information, while playing his signature songs of Tahoe.

“We are so excited to announce the Around Tahoe Tours daily guided shuttle,” said Talbot, an Incline Village resident, in a statement. “For years there has been a real need for a solid around the lake tour, and we are going to fill this void with the most exciting, educational, entertaining tour imaginable.”

Darin Talbot — known by many as Mr. Tahoe — has performed his “Mr. Tahoe Show” for years on the MS Dixie II.

“Around Tahoe” as a brand has been out since 2008 with the release of the award-winning, self-guided tour CD. Further, the Around Tahoe GPS App was released in May.

“We also hope to help ease the car tension around Lake Tahoe by getting tourist on buses,” Talbot said. “We believe our tour is a far more comfortable experience for tourists. You don’t have to worry about parking or know where to go. You do not have to worry about the road as we do that for you.

“You can focus on the beauty of Lake Tahoe. We drop you off right where you want to go.”

Darin is also teaming up with his brother, Chris Talbot, of Talbot Photography to offer photo advice and take professional photos of folks at all the major sites around the lake.

The tour will offer concessions on board, and many of the stops offer guests the opportunity to try some of Lake Tahoe’s best restaurants and even do some shopping.

Adult tickets are $75, kids 5-13 are $50, and kids 4 and under are free. A 20 percent discount also is in effect for July.
