Lake Tahoe politician summit on for summer 2009

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; Nevada Sen. John Ensign’s office has set Aug. 20 as the date for this year’s Tahoe Summit.

Although the event’s agenda and details have not been released, it will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Roundhill Pines Marina in Zephyr Cove, Nev.

In the past, the Tahoe Summit has been the site for major announcements and statements from politicians and policy makers.



and#8220;It’ll be an exciting event,and#8221; said Tory Mazzola, a spokesman for Sen. Ensign, R-Nev. and#8220;Sen. Ensign grew up at Lake Tahoe and spent a lot of time there. Ensuring that Lake Tahoe stays the gem and jewel that it is for generations to come is a top priority for him.and#8221;

Senators from Nevada and California organized the summit on a rotation. Ensign’s last summit was in 2006.
