Lake Tahoe weather: Clouds, cold temps in New Year’s week forecast

LAKE TAHOE and#8212; A cloudy week ahead and small chances of snow are in the forecast until New Year’s Eve, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

However, it appears not much accumulation will take place, with just chances between 20 and 40 percent from Sunday through Wednesday, when high temperatures will be in the mid-30s.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. East wind around 5 mph.

Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Calm wind.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.

Wednesday Night: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

New Year’s Day: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42.

Friday Night: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 42.
