Lake Tahoe weather: More snow possible by the weekend

LAKE TAHOE and#8212; The week ahead looks to start off sunny and clear before the chance for more snow returns, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

After a chilly Monday with a high of only 26 expected, high temperatures this week should hover around 40 degrees. After sunshine all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, chances of snow are forecast into the weekend.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Southwest wind around 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Thursday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Friday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.

Friday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 36.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Sunday: A slight chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.
