Lake Tahoe weather: Small snowstorm in weekend forecast
LAKE TAHOE and#8212; Snow is expected to return to the Lake Tahoe Basin this weekend, albeit on a much smaller scale than the most recent clout of storms that dumped between 3 and 6 feet of snow in the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Reno, a small storm should hit the region Friday afternoon. As much as 1 to 3 inches is forecast Friday night, with another inch or two possible on Saturday.
Partly sunny and cloudy skies are forecast from Sunday through Tuesday, with chances of snow possible from Wednesday into next weekend.
High temperatures over the next seven days should hover in the mid- to upper-30s.

Friday: Scattered snow showers, mainly after 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday night: Snow likely, mainly after 10 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 22. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Saturday: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35. West wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind around 5 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Southwest wind around 5 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.
Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36.
Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
Tuesday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
Tuesday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
Wednesday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
Wednesday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
Thursday: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.
