Laker volleyball defeated at Whittell

The North Tahoe High volleyball team lost in three games, 18-25, 22-25, 12-25, to host Whittell in a Northern 2A match Tuesday.

The Lakers are now 2-2 in league and 8-3 overall.

“The last score isn’t representative of the match,” said Tom LeFevers, head coach of the Lakers. “Both teams played very hard with high skill level. We just came out on the short end.”

Laker junior Kayla Baumgardner and senior Haley Burmer each had five blocks.

“Even though we lost, we played well,” LeFevers said. “We look forward to seeing Whittell again and evening the score next time we play them.”

The Lakers host Truckee in a non-league match Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.
