The North Tahoe High volleyball team lost a tightly contested Northern 2A match at Incline on Tuesday.

The Lakers (4-3) dropped the first two games, 21-25, 19-25, before recovering to take the next two, 25-16, 25-22. Incline then edged North Tahoe in extra points, 15-17, in the deciding game.

While the contest was evenly matched, North Tahoe coach Tom LeFevers said it wasn’t the prettiest to watch.

“Neither team really stepped up,” LeFevers said. “It was kind of an odd match. Neither team dominated. It was more of a match of errors.

“Hopefully we play better next time.”

North Tahoe junior Laura Hansen posted a team-high 10 blocks and 10 kills. Junior Kayla Baumgardner had seven blocks and four kills, and senior Elly Roemer added five kills.

The Lakers will compete in the Central Valley Tournament on Saturday, and host Silver Stage on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
