Laker volleyball handles Silver Stage; Wolverines beat Sparks

The North Tahoe High volleyball team defeated visiting Silver Stage in three games, 25-13, 25-20, 25-12, on Tuesday.

The Lakers are now 5-2 in Northern 2A league play and 15-6 overall.

“They played well,” North Tahoe coach Tom LeFevers said of his team. “They let down a few times, but otherwise they played real hard.”

Senior middle blocker Laura Hansen smashed eight kills while collecting one block and three service aces.

Kayla Baumgardner posted five kills, three aces and one block, Sidney Courcier had six kills, Haley Burmer four kills and three aces and Elly Roemer two kills and four aces.

Junior setter Kelly Hester tallied 27 assists.

The Truckee High volleyball team defeated Sparks, 25-19, 25-14, 25-12, on the road Tuesday.

The Wolverines are now 7-0 in the Northern 3A and 24-3 overall.

Truckee junior Callan Finney led the way offensively with 15 kills and one service ace. Nikki Schneider had six kills and Kaylee Waters had 19 digs and five aces.
