Large prescribed burn on Plumas National Forest

A 162 acre prescribed burn, the Genesee Underburn, began Monday on the Plumas National Forest north of Truckee. The burn is expected to continue for two to three days.

The estimated direction of smoke travel is northeast; smoke may be visible from the nearby communities of Genesee, Taylorsville, Greenville, and Quincy.
