Legends Reno-Tahoe Open gives $62,500 to charities

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE The nonprofit foundation that operates the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open is donating more than $60,000 to area charities, including the local YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.The contributions bring to $1.8 million the total the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation has given to local charities since it earned a spot on the PGA Tour 10 years ago.Other local charities who benefit from the tournament include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, the Children’s Cabinet, First Tee of Northern Nevada and Montreux Cares.This year’s tournament with a $3 million purse is scheduled Aug. 6-9 at Montreux Golf andamp; Country Club.
