Letter to the Editor: Bike path or public road?

It is unfortunate that there are people in this community that feel they must use our paved bike paths as there personal roads or parking places.

One of the paths that I am referring to is the portion between Henness apartments and Old Greenwood.

On several occasions I have come across personal vehicles driving along this stretch of bike path.

I am aware that there is a maintenance shed that is accessed by Old Greenwood golfing staff, but it also appears that others feel a need to use it so their commute to work is made easier.

There is a sign at the maintenance shop posting and#8220;This is not a Public Road,and#8221; so it surprises me that there is not a gate positioned there to stop this behavior. Considering there are gates everywhere else for this very reason, it seems logical to add another.

These bike paths are a great improvement for this community and are being enjoyed by many during the summer and winter months and#8212; letand#8217;s keep it that way without anyone getting hurt.
