Letter to the Editor: Election signs are the visual pollution of our town
October 22, 2010
Agreeing with the Sierra Sun editorsand#8217; stance in Cheers and Jeers regarding phone book trash in our driveways, letand#8217;s take it a step further and take a stance on campaign poster trash, the and#8220;visual pollution of our town.and#8221;
I do not know if it is possible to control the number of signs a candidate or proposition can place and where they are placed and their size, but with the number of elections there are now, it would be worth trying. As far as the endorsement letters for candidates in the Sierra Sun and, without naming any one candidate, I endorse a Non Vote for every candidate that represents themselves as a voice of change, if they have been elected to a different public office before.
They represent what has gone wrong with our town and the direction it took. The changes we need are new candidates that have a new commitment to our community, with no connections to the developers and growth advocates that took our town down the wrong path. We do not need more of the same.
