Letter to the Editor: How Clear Capital feels about Truckee
A letter was recently published in the Sierra Sun entitled and#8220;I want answers regarding roadwork.and#8221; The author made various impassioned statements about recent road construction and called from someone and#8220;to be firedand#8221; for not considering the impact upon Clear Capital.
As the co-founder and President of Clear Capital, I want to make it abundantly clear this is not the opinion of Clear Capital. The author is not a spokesperson for Clear Capital and in no way reflects the opinions of the company nor its staff.
In fact, Clear Capital is extremely thankful for the quality of our roads and their maintenance. We recognize that both the town of Truckee and Caltrans provide an amazingly high quality transportation system in one of the most challenging environments in the nation. The quality of maintenance of our roads in both dry and snow seasons far surpasses that of other similar sized mountain towns. One of the reasons we built our headquarters in Truckee, and are proud to provide more than 270 jobs in our town, is due to the caliber of our snow removal and road maintenance; when the snow falls, our employees are still able to get to work. And during the summer, we are thankful that upgrades, paving, and safety issues are attended to.
In our opinion, the town of Truckee deserves kudos for these efforts. Both the town and Caltrans provided advance notice of construction and off ramp closures in both clear signage and here in the Sierra Sun. Sure, every so often we have to wait in line at a construction site or slow down behind a snow plow. But when our pace is slowed, we get to take a moment to look around and take in the amazing environment and the amazing people that make up this proud community.
Weand#8217;d like to say thank you to the town of Truckee, and thank you to Caltrans for making it possible and#8212; and safe and#8212; to live and work in one of the most amazing communities in the nation!
