Letter to the Editor: Kudos to the post office and its employees
Recently, the U.S. Postal Service began enforcing the parking laws at the main post office in Truckee. About time, as far as I am concerned.
Many are the days that I have had to park at one of the metered spots in order to get my mail on the way home from an exhausting and dirty day at work. The signs are clearly posted. Perhaps it is that our country is slowly becoming illiterate. Quit listening to the Republican debates and#8212; they have that effect on you.
I recently was at the post office when a female was screaming profanities at the people who work there. The post office had just closed its doors for the day, but that did not deter her one bit.
I do not know of any one elseand#8217;s experience there, but I personally have found every one of the postal employees that Iand#8217;ve come in contact with to be polite, hard-working and friendly. I find the postal employees to be a pleasure to deal with. Quite the accomplishment when you consider the stress of the job and the rude customers they sometimes have to put up with.
Perhaps for those of you that just have to have a potty mouth the town could establish a place along the river that you could go regularly to voice out any childish vocabulary.
Wishing all well,
