Letter to the Editor: Sheriffand#8217;s office needs to better patrol Boca
Last Sunday there was a tragedy at Boca Lake where a Jet Skier was killed. I am very sorry for the family of this person.
Now maybe the sheriff will take notice and start patrolling Boca. The past two weekends, my family and I were out on our boat at Boca and there were Jet Skiers and boaters on the lake traveling in very unsafe manners. I could not believe how close Jet Skiers and boats came to our kids on the tube.
If you own a watercraft, rules have been made and they need to be followed. We usually donand#8217;t go to Boca because of all the people who have no regard for other peopleand#8217;s safety, and we wonand#8217;t be going back. It is unfortunate that someone had to lose their life, and this probably could have been prevented.
Most of the people who use Boca are from out of town, with rental boats/Jet Skis. These people need to be talked to and need to have regard for other people in the lake, or they need to get a ticket to get it through their heads that safety comes first, no matter what.
