Letter to the Editor: TDPUD should have allowed more time for public review
Contractors Association of Truckee Tahoe members cannot read minds or predict the future. Until the Truckee Donner Public Utility District agenda and staff report was released Friday, March 12, none of us knew what was in the general managerand#8217;s contract.
It wasnand#8217;t until we started reading the employment agreement that questions popped up. This contract is a five-year obligation and pretty important action. TDPUD President Jeff Bender was asked Monday, March 15, to come speak to our committee on Tuesday, March 16. We did not create these compressed timelines and#8212; the TDPUD did. They could have allowed more time for public review and information gathering. They didnand#8217;t, and thatand#8217;s a significant problem.
