Letter to the Editor: Thanks for the generous SnowFest! Queen support
Our family wishes to extend our thanks to the Truckee community for its generous support of our daughter, Shelby, in her candidacy for SnowFest! Queen.
Thank you to the Special Education department of TTUSD, in particular Shelbyand#8217;s Transition class teachers, Lisa Fur and Evelyn Foster. Thanks also to Sierra Senior Services, their employees, Sarah Deardorff and the residents of the Donner Truckee Senior apartments.
Although Shelby was not selected as the queen, everyone made her feel cherished and supported every day. It was a wonderful time for our family to see Shelby accomplish so much.
Shelby wanted to show that people with disabilities can do anything as long as they just try. Thanks for giving her the opportunity to raise money for a terrific charity, Sierra Senior Services.
