Letter to the Editor: Vote Hetherington, Wallace, Van Berkem for airport board

I strongly support the candidacy of Mary Hetherington, Tom Van Berkem, and Lisa Wallace for the Truckee Tahoe Airport Board and urge you to vote for them.

Mary, Tom, and Lisa will continue a balanced perspective in providing effective leadership on the airport board. Mary and Tom have served on the board for 8 and 4 years respectfully. They have a successful track record of representing all stakeholders. They deserve to be re-elected. If elected, Lisa would replace long time board member Kathleen Eagan who chose not to seek re-election. Lisa will join Mary and Tom in continuing a legacy of quality leadership representing both pilots and non pilots.

Mary, Tom, and Lisa will represent the entire airport district and work constructively with the other two board members, who are pilots, and continue to make decisions that ensure that our airport will be a safe and quiet one and the great community asset that it is.

I have served as a member of the Airport Community Advisory Committee for 5 years and have been able to observe Mary and Tom govern thoughtfully for the benefit of the entire community. I have known Lisa for many years and am confident that she’ll be an excellent replacement for Kathleen Eagan.

Please vote for Mary Hetherington, Tom Van Berkem, and Lisa Wallace.

Gerald W. Herrick, Truckee

Truckee Fire Protection District board member
