Library loop: Truckee Library temporarily relocated

Special to the Sun

The Truckee Library has temporarily relocated its services to the library’s WorkSpace, 10879 Donner Pass Rd., in front of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. The library, which is a county-owned facility that opened in 1976, will be closed through mid-October for interior updates including new paint, flooring, furniture, and other upgrades.

“The space will feel brighter and more welcoming for patrons with moveable furniture and modernized seating options for programming, coworking, and reading,” says Nick Wilczek, County Librarian. “The Truckee population has multiplied by ten since the Truckee Library opened to the public nearly fifty years ago. Our team has worked hard to ensure that we continue to provide services and programs during this time and that the current facility serves our patrons as best it can while we work with the community on the larger Truckee Library vision.”

Through the closure, the adjacent Truckee Library WorkSpace will be open for holds pick up with access to WiFi, computers, and a collection of browsable materials. Library cardholders will also be able to check out internet hotspots, California State Parks passes and items from the Recreation Collection. The Truckee Library WorkSpace will be open during the same Monday through Saturday hours.

Patrons are encouraged to check the Truckee Library’s online event calendar availability and locations of programs at https://www.nevadacountyca.gov/3455/Library or call the library at 530-582-7846 for more information. Monthly printed programming calendars can also be picked up at the Truckee Library WorkSpace.
