SOUTH LAKE TAHOE ” The weekend storm brought some nice dust-settling rain and high-elevation snow to the Tahoe area. Rainfall amount ranged from around a half-inch at lake level to more than an inch along the Sierra crest above 7,000 feet.

At the 8,000-foot level, 6 to 8 inches of snow was reported by various weather spotters by Sunday morning.

After a cold morning with patchy areas of freezing fog, look for temperatures to rebound to near 50 degrees this afternoon. Increasing clouds and south winds 10 to 20 mph also are expected this afternoon, with a large area of warm frontal moisture moving into Northern California.

Some light rain and high-elevation snow is forecast tonight and Tuesday, with snow levels generally above 7,500 feet. Computer models show about 0.10 inch or less of rain at lake level, with an inch or two of snow possible above 7,000 feet.

Low temperatures tonight will be in the upper 20s to mid-30s under cloudy skies.

A warming trend will continue into Tuesday under a mild southwest subtropical flow, allowing highs to climb into the mid- and upper 50s despite cloudy skies.

These temperatures are about 5 to 10 degrees above the seasonal normal for mid-November.
