Little League report: A’s top Angels, advance to Friday’s championship

League: Truckee Major Little League

Game: Angels at A’s, June 15 Semifinal Playoff

Score: A’s, 10 – Angels, 1

Batting Stars: Jack Englert went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored. JJ Bellon went 2 for 3 with a double, 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Miles Guiragossian went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Trevor Talpas was 1 for 3 with a double, 1 run batted in and 1 run scored. Domenick Tamietti, Joe Walker and Max Wingard each added a hit.

Fielding Stars: Miles Guiragossian threw 2 innings of shutout baseball and Trevor Talpas came in to hold the Angels for 3 innings, and then Jack Englert came in to shut them down in the last inning. Jayden Commendatorre, Jack Englert and Logan Paschall also made excellent defensive plays.

General: The undermanned Angels kept the game close until the A’s scored 5 in the fifth inning. The win propelled the A’s into the championship game which will be played Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Regional Park. Closing ceremonies are just prior to the game.
