LIVE COVERAGE RECAP: School district announces $2 million revenue loss

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The school district and the teachers union will meet Wednesday to get public feedback on their initial labor contract proposals for the 2010-11 school year.

According to the agenda, both the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District and the Tahoe Truckee Education Association presented the initial negotiation proposals to each other on June 20. Wednesday’s meeting puts them out for public review.

and#8220;The purpose of this … hearing is to solicit and receive public comment on these proposals,and#8221; staff wrote in the meeting agenda.

The public hearing is a result of government code requiring the school district to make public the topics of discussion during negotiations. Some of the topic discussed in the contract include class sizes, health and welfare benefits and teacher wages.
