North Tahoe School’s math and science teacher Nancy McNair was named Teacher of the Year for the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD).

An educator for over 30 years, McNair has taught a wide range of courses and coached both middle school and high school Nordic ski teams.

McNair is described as a person who exudes passion for teaching each and every day in the classroom. She believes all students have an innate curiosity and desire to learn and her students deserve the best of her.

“This is a well-deserved award for Nancy McNair,” said Dr. Leri, Superintendent-Chief Learning Officer of TTUSD. “McNair embodies TTUSD’s vision of providing all students challenging and engaging learning opportunities in order to be successful in a globally competitive age. She has positively impacted the lives of thousands of students and makes the impossible, possible for them.”

McNair was recognized as Teacher of the Year at the TTUSD Welcome Back Convocation Event, at the TTUSD Board of Education Meeting and at the Placer County Teacher of the Year Awards Reception. “To be Teacher of the Year within any district is an honor but to receive this award in this district is an honor beyond compare. I’m very touched,” stated Nancy McNair.
