A Nose With A Notion launches socially minded merchandise in Kings Beach
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — A Nose With A Notion is a Kings Beach organization dedicated to increasing awareness about the benefits of canine companionship and raising funds for local causes.
It was created to raise community awareness about organizations that provide outstanding services, which benefit and support the community.
The proceeds will go to four local organizations: Relay For Life/Bark for Life and the American Cancer Society; Dog Day In The Park; Paws to Read and the D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare program.
When a Nose With A Notion product is purchased, the sale fights cancer by providing funds for research, education, advocacy and service. It helps the D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare Program teach a future generation about the importance of theater, music and art; buys an early reader a book; goes toward building a dog park and helps provide food, shelter and medical care for wayward animals in the community.

Candles from Sierra Essentials: Owner Holly Redpath has created special addition candles for A Nose With A Notion. There are four signature scents: Woodsy, Vacation, Thai Lemongrass and Dirty Paws. They are made out of soy and essential oils housed in a reusable tin. The Trunk Show in Truckee will also be carrying the product, named Mike’s Candles, for the incomparable Mike the Dog, who is involved in many philanthropic endeavors.
Bark For Life Bones: Handmade in Minden, Nev. by John and Linda of Leaning Dog Stuffies. The toys are pre-washed and environmentally friendly, created by dog lovers who want all dogs to be happy and healthy. Visit Leaningdogstuffies.com.
Moonie dog treats: New to partner with A Nose with A Notion is Moonie dog treats out of Incline Village, Nev. Moonie dog treats are fresh, home-baked and all natural.
A Nose With A Notion products will be available at Hot Diggity Dog and Cat and The Central Market in Kings Beach. A Nose With A Notion candles may be purchased on line at http://www.sierraessentials.com. Candles will also be sold at the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival’s outdoor store, Bardwear, during this year’s run of “As You Like It,” from July 11 to Aug. 24 at Sand Harbor.
