Tahoe photographer Keoki Flagg will host an image release reception from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at Gallery Keoki in the Village at Squaw Valley.

The images are from Flagg’s recent trip to Alaska with Points North Heliskiing. Below is an excerpt what he had to say about the trip:

“We are standing on the northernmost beach of the American continent looking out over the Pacific, experiencing the ending of another perfect day.

“I have traveled the planet with amazing adventurers, dynamic individuals constantly searching out new ways to defy gravity, explore and interact with the natural world. Pushing limits, crossing new boundaries and building dreams is something that Kevin and Jessica Quinn of Points North Heliskiing do so naturally.

“At water’s edge, home base lies underneath the towering Chugach range and spreads from the vast glacial drainage of the Copper River Delta at the end of the road to dense, pristine forests and waterways that seemingly go on forever. Cordova, Alaska, presents a limitless kaleidoscope of color and textural shades of earth.

“Season to season, year after year, the place is the same, but it’s always different, always surprising, and always relevant. Whatever nature delivers is a gift.”

The event is free; no RSVP is necessary.
