TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Truckee’s celebrity “Sweet” Oscar Pryor is leaving Truckee and a farewell party in his honor will be held Feb. 15, 6 p.m. to midnight.

David Borlongan, owner of Art Obsessions Gallery, will host this special party for Sweet in the historic downtown Truckee location.

After many wonderful years in Truckee, Sweet is headed back home to Virginia to tie up loose ends for his well-earned retirement, during which he plans to enjoy time over seas.

Sweet is loved by many in the Truckee/Lake Tahoe region and remembered for his roadside finery.

While working for Caltrans, Sweet lightened the frustration of roadwork stoppages by entertaining drivers with his jaunty dance, mime-like hand signals and amusing sign swinging.

Sweet will be missed by many. As a friend, camera man for Nina Ski’s program “All About Art” and resident; Ski said she “personally will not loose contact as we have become lifelong friends…”

In addition a silent auction will be available for bidding, with proceeds to support the Forever #18 Field of Dreams Baseball Field.

A no host bar will be available. For more information contact Ski at 530-414-8715.
