TAHOE VISTA, Calif. — Joy Michiel, one of Lake Tahoe’s most beloved entertainers and residents, died Nov. 13, 2013.

A celebration of Joy’s life will take place Sunday, March 30, at Spindleshanks Restaurant in Tahoe Vista, starting at 4 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend, swap stories, meet old friends, and reminisce about “Big Joy.”

Pictures and videos from her life will be shown, and the event will feature a performance by her band, Bigg Funn, featuring husband Steve Caswell on drums, Jimmy Vee on keyboards and Joey Carmen on guitar.

“Please come and celebrate the life of one extraordinary woman, Big Joy,” Caswell said. “And please glitz it up and dress wild — Big Joy would love it.”
