TRUCKEE, Calif. — California Highway Patrol in Truckee, with its partners SaveMart of Truckee and Truckee Police Department collected more than 1,000 toys for this year’s CHiPs For Kids campaign.

In its second year of partnership with SaveMart, the CHP in Truckee nearly doubled the amount of toys collected from last year.

All toys were donated to Truckee Community Christmas, an umbrella charity, making sure all the toys collected stayed locally in the Truckee-North Tahoe area.

“The CHP here in Truckee wants to ensure that every child has something to smile about this holiday season,” said Truckee Commander Capt. Timothy Malone.
