Citizen Police Academy to begin in March in Truckee

TRUCKEE, Calif. – The Truckee Police Department recently announced the return of the Citizen Police Academy, an eight-week program designed to provide residents with an overview of the department’s functions and operational procedures.

The first class on Tuesday, March 26, meets from 6-9 p.m. Interested residents must be at least 16 years old, have no prior felony or serious misdemeanor convictions and live in the town of Truckee. Parent/guardian approval is needed for those under 18 years.

To apply to the academy, pick up a brochure at the front desk of the Truckee Police Department at 10183 Truckee Airport Road, or call Officer Lisa Madden at 530-550-2330.
