Decision day is Tuesday for 66-acre Truckee development

Staff report

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Proposed development guidelines for Joerger Ranch are scheduled to be voted on by Truckee Town Council next week.

Town staff is recommending council members adopt a site plan, maps and certify a final environmental document for the 66-acre property at the Highway 267/Brockway Road/Soaring Way four corners intersection.

Approval would establish specific allowed land uses and development standards/guidelines for the property.

The proposal divides the property into four parcels, with six zoning districts for regional commercial, lifestyle commercial, manufacturing/industrial, business innovation zone, multi-family residential and open space.

Some residents have voiced concerns with the zoning outlined in the proposal.

Since aspects of the plan — referred to as Planned Community 3, or PC-3 — are considered a legislative act, town council must vote on the matter and will be final decision-maker.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Town Hall at 10183 Truckee Airport Road.
