Diamond Peak employee honored with lift operator of the year award

Staff report

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Diamond Peak’s Vincent Murillo, Lead Lift Operator and Maintenance Assistant, was recently honored with the 2015 Rocky Mountain Lift Association “Lift Operations Person of the Year” award.

Every year, the Rocky Mountain Lift Association, in cooperation with Willis MountainGuard Insurance, honors an “Operation Person of the Year and a Maintenance Person of the Year” at their annual conference.

According to IVGID, Murillo has worked at Diamond Peak for four seasons and was promoted to Lead Lift Operator after his first season. Vincent helps manage and train the Lift Operations employees during the winter and maintains the lifts during the summer.

His supervisor, Erik Castaneda, nominated him for his dependability, attention to detail, and hard work ethic.

“Vincent always puts safety and customer service first and helps instill this in our employees,” said Castaneda. “On multiple occasions he has discovered anomalies or unsafe situations and taken immediate action to solve the problem.”

“We strive to offer exceptional customer service and a quality product to our skiers and couldn’t do that without great employees like Vincent on our team,” added Brad Wilson, Diamond Peak’s General Manager.

Diamond Peak is currently hiring Lift Operator/Ticket Checkers and other positions for the 2015-16 ski season.

Diamond Peak will also host a Winter Job Fair in the Base Lodge on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit YourTahoePlace.com/Jobs to learn more.
