TRUCKEE, Calif. — Saturday, May 23, marks opening day 2015 for West End Beach at Donner Lake.

Residents and visitors can enjoy fun in the sun all summer long with beach access, picnic tables, baerbecue sites, and playgrounds.

Work up a sweat playing tennis, basketball and volleyball at the courts, then jump in the lake to cool off.

You can also get out on the water with paddleboat, kayaks and paddleboard rentals, or sit back and relax while you throw a line out to catch some fish.

Daily admission for adults (18+) is $4, and $3 for youth (17 & Under). Kids under 2 years old are free.

Season pass and other rates apply, and reservations for larger areas are available.

West End Beach is managed by the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District. Visit to learn more.
