Part of Wednesday’s forum will feature the seven hospital board candidates: Dale Chamblin (incumbent), John Falk, Mark Spohr, Charles Zipkin, Greg Jellinek, Ned Hughes and Ronda Brooks.

The other portion will feature four candidates for three Truckee Fire seats: Paul D. Wilford (incumbent), Gerald W. Herrick (incumbent), Victor R. Hernandez (incumbent) and Gary Botto.

Thursday’s forum will feature five candidates for three town council seats: Mark Brown (incumbent), Patrick Flora (incumbent), Carolyn Wallace Dee (incumbent), Morgan Goodwin and Jamie Brimer.

The other portion focuses on Measure U, a $114 million general obligation bond to finance school campus and building improvements in the Truckee area.

Both events take place from 6-8 p.m. at Truckee Town Hall at 10183 Airport Road.

Candidates and those speaking on the measure will be asked live questions and will be timed on their responses.

The forums will be broadcast live on TTCTV-Channel 18, which will stream video on its home page at http://www.ttctv.org and air reruns.

Businesswoman Sarah Coolidge, who’s running against incumbent Sue Daniels for a seat on the North Tahoe Public Utilities District board, will host a “Meet & Greet” meeting Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 5:30 p.m. the Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort in Tahoe Vista.

The event is open to the public and is designed to give NTPUD residents an opportunity to meet Coolidge and “discuss their concerns about issues such as utility rates and the future of the district in general,” according to a press release submitted to the Sun.
