Faith Factor | Synchronicity! Making sense of unexpected opportunities in Tahoe City
Special to the Sun
Investigate the nature of synchronicity in your life! Have you ever looked back at an event in your life and suddenly realized, “Oh, now I know why that happened!”
Is it possible to get better at catching those moments of opportunity when they happen, rather than seeing them in retrospect?
Sky Nelson is a singer-songwriter, physicist and speaker, working on connecting science and spirituality. He encourages people to worry less, trust more, and keep our awareness open to the opportunities that are in constant motion around us.
Sky discusses a scientific model for understanding synchronicity that can lead us to a higher level of operating in the world. Sky’s model can be relevant to working in business, deepening our spiritual practice, problem-solving in politics, and enhancing our personal relationships.
Join the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe Truckee for “Synchronicity! Making Sense of Unexpected Opportunities Workshop” with Sky Nelson on July 6, noon-2 p.m. at 700 North Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, above the Marina. Suggested donation: $20. No one turned away for a lack of funds.
There is a presentation and discussion and one or two exercises, as well as a bit of music to move the energy.
Sky likes to get people thinking and talking, as well as to convey specific ideas he puts forward on synchronicity. He makes the effort to balance intellectual material with heartfelt personal experiences of synchronicity.
Synchronicity is not just a quirky moment that happens here and there in our lives.
These meaningful coincidences happen every day, throughout the day. They may come as an off-handed comment from a friend, or finding ourselves stuck in line at the cash register.
Sky’s physics papers have appeared in peer reviewed journals and various “New Thought” magazines. Sky received a nomination in 2013 for a Positive Music Award for his song “Live in Love.” His album of original music “The World Ocean” and his new eBook “Coincidence: Making Sense of Unexpected Opportunities” are available for sale. He offers a one-of-a-kind six-week online class with the same title. Visit skynelson.com.
Sky has a Bachelors of Arts from University of California, Berkeley and a teaching credential from Sonoma State University. He is a joyous husband to Dana, father of 4-year-old Eliana and a committed volunteer for political campaigns.
Founded in 1986, the Center for Spiritual Living Tahoe Truckee is a spiritual community dedicated to empowering individuals to discover an inner power that has the ability to transform their lives and make the world a better place.
