Get your NOLA on at Mardi Squaw on Saturday
OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. – The Squaw Valley Olympic House will be transformed into a steamy, French Quarter tavern, complete with Mardi Gras beads, hurricanes, dancers, Cirque performers, art, N’awlin’s cuisine and the booty-movin’ grooves of Planet Booty and J-Boogie.
Every room of the house will be pumped with second-line flair as event organizers import some of San Francisco’s finest turntable technicians, including Matt Haze, DJ Mancub, DJ Dials, Professor Bang, the Motown on Mondays DJs and Afrolicious.
Alongside the out-of-towners will be the finest local talent: Zeb Early, James Boggan, Mr. Rooney and micah j. Professional boarders and skiers also will be in the crowd, showing their love to the Mardi Squaw mass and for event sponsors.
Also making its way for the first time to Tahoe will be San Francisco’s legendary Silent Frisco sound system, which takes the party to you with its proprietary headphone-based dance party.
There will be a free pre-party on the sun deck, hosted by Heckler Magazine and Big Truck Brand, with activities for all ages, from noon until 4 p.m. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the High Fives Foundation. Deck sponsors include Nixon, Burton, Ride, Bataleon, Dragon, Comune, Celtek, Capita, Skull Candy, Coal, Contour, Vans, Technine, Switchback Bindings, Oakley, Nomis and Bern.
