Help spruce up Tahoe beaches for summer season

Volunteers are needed to help with a trio of regional clean-up days this Saturday.

Volunteers are needed for Tahoe City Downtown Association’s Clean Up Day, Saturday, June 7, a part of Keep California Beautiful.

Help pick up trash in Tahoe City. Check in at Commons Beach at 8:30 a.m. Snacks provided. Pick up trash 9-11:30 a.m. along designated routes. Pizza party at Lakeside Pizza following. This volunteer opportunity may be used as a service learning project/ high school community service credit project, internship, or other college/high school credit project upon agreement of the school.

Must be at least the age of a high school student; able to easily walk 1-2 miles; responsible with community spirit. Outgoing, positive personalities encouraged!

Tahoe Bay to Bay Clean Up Day

Be one of more than 100 volunteers who take to the streets and pick up trash in an effort to spruce up the Kings Beach community before the busy tourist season, Saturday, June 7. Registration will start at 9 am in Kings Beach at a new location, the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, in Tahoe Vista at Cable Car Ice Cream, in Carnelian Bay at Watermans Landing and in Crystal Bay at the Tahoe Biltmore.

Volunteers will be assigned to a designated area, and a lucky few will find the golden items, placed in various clean-up locations to be redeemed for a prize. Starting at 11:30 a.m., volunteers are invited to enjoy complimentary food and live music at North Tahoe Beach Picnic Pavilion (across from Safeway).
