Incline Village community notes: Fruitcakes, fun and family time

Jean Eick
Village Notes

Thank you snow dancers. It looks like we will be receiving a little more white stuff this week but still need that big snow event so keep up the good work. It is fruitcake season so dancing will help burn off the extra cake. Think snow!

We are all looking forward to the opening of Diamond Peak next week and excitement is building for the many events and fun out on the mountain. Diamond Peak is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Watch for fun events to celebrate.

Lake Tahoe School, in collaboration with Tahoe Family Solutions, is hosting the annual Giving Tree for the holidays. TFS has chosen families who are most in need during the holidays and asked for three wishes from each family member. These wishes are written on ornaments and hung on the Giving Tree in the Lake Tahoe School lobby until Monday, Dec. 12. For information call 775-298-0004.

The annual community tree lighting is from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at The Chateau. This is a new event with lots of fun holiday activities.

One birthday for this week. Happy Birthday to Sylvia Bachman on Dec. 12.

The Deal or Steal for this week is to visit one of the local shops or businesses in our community. Meet and greet your local neighbors and friends to celebrate the holidays Incline style.

As always send in your birthdays, anniversaries and news, along with the best deals or steals you can find, before 5 p.m. on Tuesday to jeanmeick@aol.com.
