KCRA 3 Sacramento News Anchor Deirdre Fitzpatrick will speak at Tuesday’s Good Morning Truckee meeting, which also will feature an update on Truckee’s new aquatics center.

Fitzpatrick joined KCRA in 1997, and has been a member of the Hearst-Argyle Olympic Team since 2000. Her Olympic reporting has taken her to multiple Olympic Games including Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens, Torino, Beijing, Vancouver, London and Sochi.

“Her professional interest in sports carries over to her personal life,” according to a news release. “Deirdre is an endurance athlete and had completed at least 12 marathons (including the Boston Marathon) and Ironman triathlons, including the inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe in 2013.”

Fitzpatrick is scheduled talk about the Tahoe/Truckee lifestyle qualities that attracted her to become a second-home owner. She’ll also discuss the TV station’s commitment to covering stories in the Tahoe/Truckee area.

Kevin Murphy, Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District board member, and Amanda Oberacker, the district’s aquatics director, are also scheduled to provide an update on the aquatic center and its various funding options.

Good Morning Truckee is a community forum presented by the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce to provide timely and relevant information on a variety of topics and create a networking opportunity.
