Letter to the Editor: Congressman McClintock’s unwise votes
I was very disappointed to learn that our representative to Congress, Tom McClintock, voted against aid to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. People in California have suffered through earthquakes and vicious firestorms. Does he not remember the Angora fire in our area? People in our area received FEMA emergency housing and assistance. The federal government offered low interest loans for homes and small businesses.
I believe the Congressman’s far right fervor to do as little or nothing for government has left us, the people in his district, without representation. Fortunately, other Republican and Democratic congressmen put aside their ideological purity to help the victims of a devastating hurricane.
