Letter to the Editor: Thanks for terrific fire response
Many thanks to the Truckee Fire Department and their counterparts at Squaw Valley Fire for saving our home in the middle of the night two weeks ago. We saw first-hand the work of these fine people who risked their lives to save our home.
From the time they showed up after midnight, they spent nearly four hours (dozens of man hours) battling the fire, evacuating the smoke, cleaning up the debris and then investigating the cause.
Nobody should ever have to experience a loss like this, but the good people at Truckee Fire were there for us when we needed them the most.
Further, they continued to support us through this matter with their inspection, reports, and professional guidance. Sincere thanks from our family to you.
