Lib Loop: Finding a good read at your North Lake Tahoe library
Summer may not be here officially per the calendar but the roads are restriped, parking lots all over North Tahoe have new blacktop, and we all find ourselves leaving a few minutes earlier to compensate for traffic and construction.
This is summer. Along with birdsong, chipmunk banter, mules ears bursting forth, and return of deck furniture.
With summer sometimes comes a change in our reading habits. Children might find themselves diving into a series that they heard about. Adults may want the hot read they heard about in line at the grocery store. Our big tip for voracious readers of all ages? Place holds! Use the online catalog to make sure the next book in a series is waiting for you, or that the hot book arrives before fall.
In your local library you will find we are ready to put a great read into your hands. We librarians are here to listen to what you like to read, and then give you some options about similar subjects or authors that might be up your alley.
We love talking books. And we don’t discriminate — if you love to read e-books or you love a paper book, we love talking to you about new-to-you titles. Stop in and see what we can put in your hands to make this summer a memorable read.
