Man dies after suffering medical event, crashing into Truckee garage (updated)

TRUCKEE, Calif. — A 62-year-old man was pronounced dead Sunday after he suffered a medical event before driving his truck into a residence.

According to the Truckee Police Department, the man was plowing snow on Palisade Street in the Armstrong subdivision when the event occurred, and he then ran into a home’s garage.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Bringolf, who is head coroner for the county, identified the man Tuesday as Truckee resident William Anthony Perroto.

Perroto worked as a self-employed contractor operating his own business, according to TPD.

Bringolf said Tuesday it appears Perroto died of natural causes, although the exact cause is still being investigated.
