New firm approved to perform Olympic Valley finance study
October 16, 2014
A new consultant to perform a fiscal study on the proposed town of Olympic Valley was approved last week.
Placer County Local Agency Formation Commission unanimously approved Santa Ana, Calif.-based RSG to analyze the proposed town's financial feasibility. RSG replaces Citygate Associates, which pulled out of the task in September.
"We are pleased that a qualified, credible, objective organization has been selected to complete the (comprehensive fiscal analysis)," Fred Ilfeld, chairman of Incorporate OV Foundation, said in a statement. "This assessment by RSG will determine whether an incorporated Olympic Valley is economically viable."
RSG's contract is for $85,360 and has been paid in full, according to Incorporate Olympic Valley, the grassroots group pushing for the town's creation.
RSG projects collecting data from October through December, with a draft report completed in January 2015, according to previous reports.
The draft report will be used by IOV and Placer County representatives in revenue neutrality discussions, which could start in February 2015.
